A lush escape through the forests and cliffs of history
Experience the perfect balance between cultural heritage and wild nature on this emblematic 9 km route. Starting from the charming village of Campagne, you will drift through a verdant valley where the river winds between ancestral forests and limestone walls.

Geography
The Secret Corridor of the Valley of Mankind
The Vézère is a river of character, narrower and more shaded than the Dordogne. On this 9 km stretch, it offers an intimate navigation through deep valleys where lush greenery meets ancient cliffs. The calm current is ideal for a peaceful paddle, allowing you to observe a preserved ecosystem where kingfishers and herons are frequently spotted.
History
From Neogothic Grandeur to Ancestral Shelters
Your journey begins at the foot of the Château de Campagne, a historic site rebuilt between the 15th and 18th centuries and beautifully renovated in neogothic style. As you glide along, you pass through a landscape that has sheltered humanity for over 400,000 years, including the nearby prehistoric sites of Roc de Marsal where Neanderthal history was uncovered.
Interests
An Authentic Immersion into Slow Tourism
The main attraction of this circuit is the absolute serenity it offers. You will drift past the Roc de l’Agranel, a massive geological curiosity and natural fortress visible only from the water. The route is a true invitation to contemplation, far from the summer crowds, where each bend reveals a new natural panorama characteristic of the “Valley of Mankind”.
