A panoramic journey to the heart of the Grand Cingle
Embark on a spectacular expedition that will take you from the mysterious waters of the Vallée de l’Homme to the famous meanders of Trémolat. This 12km route is ideal for those who want to see the landscape change with every paddle stroke.

Geography
Crossing the Great Confluence
This route offers a unique geographical transition. You start at our base in Les Courrèges, navigating the lower reaches of the wild Vézère. After a few kilometers, you reach Limeuil, where the dark, mineral waters of our valley merge with the turquoise flow of the majestic Dordogne. From this point, the horizon opens up, providing a feeling of total freedom under the vast skies of the Périgord.
History
The Ancient Highway of the River Lords
As you paddle towards Trémolat, you are following the historical route of the Gabarres, the traditional flat-bottomed boats that transported local riches to the Atlantic coast for centuries. You will pass beneath cliffs that have witnessed the passage of kings and river merchants. Trémolat itself, with its ancient abbey and narrow streets, has long been a strategic sentinel guarding the river’s great bend.
History
Admiring the Cingle from the Water Level
The climax of this 12 km trip is the approach to the Cingle de Trémolat. While most tourists admire this horseshoe bend from the heights, you will experience its immense scale from the riverbed. Surrounded by 100-meter high limestone cliffs and lush vegetation, you’ll feel completely immersed in a cinematic setting where nature still rules supreme.
